About Aromaflexology

Five Elements Aromaflexology is a fusion between Reflexology and Essential oil therapy based on the 5 Element Philosophy.

It combines the use of specific essential oils, chosen to balance each of the Five Elements according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with the hands-on practice of Reflexology.
The aromatic and therapeutic properties of essential oils awaken the sense of smell, helping to reconnect with emotions, calm the nervous system, and ease feelings of anxiety.
Through the gentle, flowing touch applied to the feet and hands, energy is re-channeled throughout the body, restoring harmony and vitality.
Blockages caused by physical or emotional stress are released through the powerful synergy of these two soothing and deeply healing therapies.

About Reflexology

Although Imhotep — an Egyptian polymath from around 3000 BC — is often regarded as the forefather of both aromatherapy and reflexology, it was Eunice Ingham, a physiotherapist and student of William Fitzgerald’s Zone Theory in the 1930s, who mapped the entire body onto the feet.

From her work, the modern art and science of reflexology was born. Known as the mother of reflexology, Ingham discovered that the feet were particularly responsive to healing touch.

Reflexology is a therapeutic technique that involves applying gentle pressure to specific reflex points on the feet to promote deep relaxation and support the body’s natural ability to rebalance itself.

This process helps reset mechanisms linked to the digestive, hormonal, and nervous systems, reducing stress to a more manageable level.

During a reflexology session, the body often enters what is known as a hypnagogic or hypnopompic state—the transitional phases between wakefulness and sleep. As pressure is applied to the feet and hands, both body and mind can drift into this deeply relaxed state.

In this state, some people experience vivid sensations or imagery, describing what they saw, touched, smelled, tasted, or heard. This experience resembles a natural form of self-hypnosis, where the mind allows itself to enter a profound state of calm and renewal.

Our bodies possess an incredible ability to restore balance and harmony. Reflexology simply provides the opportunity for that innate intelligence to do its work.

A stress-relief method

Five Elements Aromaflexology is a gentle, non-intrusive complementary therapy. While it does not replace medical advice or treatment, it can work effectively alongside conventional care, particularly for conditions that impact the whole body.
This holistic approach can be easily integrated into a busy lifestyle and serve as a valuable part of one’s self-care or coping strategy, promoting deep relaxation across multiple body systems and enhancing overall well-being.
